I enjoy jogging with this person, but disapprove of many of their behaviors. It sounds weird, but I am truely appalled by some of the stuff this person tells me he/she does, from a personal values perspective. I have no idea if this person knows about my feelings or not, and would never reveal my thoughts on the matter. I feel guity about it. I feel like I am using this person exclusively to meet my jogging needs.

just a stupid question that i already know the answer to. But i was thinking the only difference between humans and everything else in the world is that we know wrong from right. Aside from that, we are not that much, so take out those humans that don't know right from wrong and you're left with a few percent of the population that is actually...human. So yea, don't want to hurt anyone's feeling, just a random inner thought. So human are basically just another term such as, dog, cat, horse, and donkey. Why do we think so highly of ourselves? And if someone is not a human being, then they should have another sub-category to place those individuals in. Lol, i'm bored and would love to see your response, so take a shot.

Why is my I the I that percieves in reference to myself such that I am convinced that I am the genuine I? If I were not the genuine I, there would be many I's, but if a genuine I exists, then there is only one I. Why is it then that I percieve myself to be the genuine I distinguished from the world. Am I not the only true I considering this reasoning?

This is a rather depressing thought that I would like to have resolved. The two difficult questions are:

1. Why is my I the I that percieves in reference to myself, such that I am convinced that I am the genuine I.

2. Why can't I grasp that there are other true I's each with their own perceptive ability, such that they percieve in reference to theirself in the same way that I can as expressed in the first question.

Also, I have difficutly with the following:

Premise A: If there are many I's, then there is no genuine I.
Premise B: I percieve myself to be the genuine I.
Therefore:
Conclusion C: There are no other I's.

Please help.

you realize their character turns you off completely - they may be gorgeous on the outside but on the inside they're just not your type and you totally dislike how they think, how they behave (esp. if they appear arrogant or want to be superior to everyone, etc...)

have you had any similar experience

This is what i call the 'It s a Wonderful Life' question. The Henry Fonda character was talked out of suicide by Clarance the Angel, by being shown how him not existing would effect those around him. Badly it seemed. Why go on living for your self.Is the value of a persons life contained in numerous connections seen and unseen.

I know a lot of atheists who are generally good people and their lives always work out great. however, I also know a lot of good religious people who are struggling all the time. isn't the power of God supposed to help you in times of distress? but all the atheists I know simply rely on their own will power & everything works out for them.

so what's the trick

i really am beginning to think there may not be God at all

there's just too much pain and no responsible parent would want to put her/his children thru' that & we're supposed to be the children of God

i'd like to hear your thoughts & I know it's the same old question but I just haven't made peace with the way the world is yet

thanx

Why must I live, I have nothing to live for, because just like you I die. When I get into my car, I can die. Anything I do in my life I can die from. Why do I need to go to College, Why do I need to go to work, Why must I get up every morning, what is the point.

There is no God. I won't go to heaven or hell after I die. I just sit and rot, what was the point of me being born. I just die. There is no reason for people to be alive if they all just going to die in the end.

If a question makes you think, no matter what that question is, is that not an intelligent question? Intelligence come from thinking, so a question that produces thought would be intelligent despite opinions or an answer that have no thought to it. How and what could you identify as a stupid question when you have to have a thought to answer it? Keep in mind stupidity involves no thinking.

There is in all things a pattern that is part of our universe. It has symmetry, elegance, and grace - those qualities you find always in that which the true artist captures. You can find it in the turning of the seasons, in the way sand trails along a ridge, in the branch clusters of the creosote bush or the patterns of its leaves. We try to copy these patterns in our live and in our society, seeking the rhythms, the dances, the forms that comfort. Yet, it is possible to see peril in the finding of ultimate perfection. It is clear that the ultimate pattern contains its own fixity. In such perfection, all things move toward death.

Thoughts?
