Well, I agree that we'll die. Even in the Bible it says, "We came from the dust and to the dust we will return." But there is a God. You WILL go to heaven or hell. God sent you here for a purpose. In the Bible it says, "There is a reason for everything." He sent His Son to die for you. I have a feeling this might be hard to believe in your situation, but just think. God gave you life so that you can find it in Him and then live eternally with a perfect body with Him. Think of this story:
A man is planning to jump off a bridge and kill himself. He just didn't think life was worth it. He felt God didn't love him. His wife had left him. But before he jumped off, he heard a cry in the distance. At first he didn't care, but the cry got louder and louder and much more desperate. "Oh, for crying out loud!!" he yelled as he headed toward the sound. It was coming from a dumpster...he discarded a few tissues, and found an infant. An abandoned infant. "This is stupid." he thought. He was about to return to the bridge until the baby suddenly puked. The man knew the baby was going to die if he didn't do anything, so he brought the child home. After many hesitant moments, he raised the child as his own and loved her. In turn, the child grew happily and healthy and became a famous heart surgeon, saving many lives. When interviewed, she said, "My father said he almost commited suicide before he found me. If he had, he wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be here, and my patients wouldn't be here."
What do you think?
God put you here on this earth for a reason. Will you abandon that mission? Or like Mother Teresa, make the best out of your life?
Hope this answers your question!!

We die so we can live. Death is life and life is death. Life is meaningless without knowing it will end. Still you live as long as you don't give into death. As for heaven and hell, they are just words symbolizing how you are remembered in the minds of those that knew you after you die. Hell is from those people thinking you died of regret and sadness. Heaven is from those people that think you died with joy and balance. After you fade away there you return as a concept back to the universe/collective, where you came from, are, and forever will be. Still, even though heaven and hell are only states of mind, could you "live" knowing you left your friends and family full of regrets? One is better off alive hating life than dead hating death. As long as we have a physical being we can change our story, mentally we are only memories. Just don't hate life too much or you may accidentally call death to your door. Look for what you want to live for, in what you hate. Hate ultimately will lead you to what you love about your current situation.

Oh sheesh. Quit reinforcing the stereotype that all us atheists are nihilists.
Look, if you're searching for some purpose to your life, I got news for ya: There is none. None, except for that which you create for yourself.
But here's the good part. Being able to create your own purpose in life? It's WAY better than having some sky deity just decree to you what he thinks your purpose should be.
You've got free will so long as you're alive. So I suggest you make the most of it, and live the most fulfilling, rewarding life you can, in the style which best suits you.
And quit obsessing over death. That, and self-pity, are two of the biggest wastes of one's precious time alive.

The philospher david Hume answered this the best, PARTY! Yeah he bassically said that, look man I don't believe in god either but you don't have to be all bummed about death. You are here because of evolution, and the reason people are here is to reproduce. SO go have sex, have a good time and don't wrry about things like death, it will happen when it happens but until then you need to have fun. Make this thing called life the best it can be stop whining and have fun.

I think you might be seeing this all crabbed. We die and have the threat of death hanging over us so we will see the joy in the adventure of life. Maybe there is no GOD, I can't answer that for you. But I'll tell you this. At my age, no matter how bad things are at any moment, I wouldn't trade it for the alternative.Might want to see a doctor, sounds to me like you may have some depression going there. Good luck. :)

we as people have to experience every situation and aspect that we are put in! only after that do we become more wiser and appreciative especially when something bad happens to us or someone we know!you have so much to live for: going to school, getting a degree, becoming wiser, more knowlegeable,as on well as more mature, falling in love, becoming engaged and then married, having a family and then leaving a legacy behind you that makes your kids proud! life is about attending school for a higher education, to make you a better person, for education to teach you some of the best lessons in life as well as to learn about what responsibilty and how to handle with it and then to deal with finding yourself through falling and getting up over and over again but learning from our mistakes in the proccess!yes you could die any moment but God knows when that will happen, be it in 2 years or 2 hours which makes you strive to make the most of our lives! you should wake up and be happy that you are alive, have a good life and your life is better than someone else's such as people in 3rd world countries or the homeless or the really poor! you are blesses with so many things that you view as pointless or worthless but other people would give anyting to be in your shoes for a day and they appreciate life more than you do! you take everydthing for granted as though you will always have it there but the truth is that time does not stand still so be careful what you do with your time and how you appreciate others and the small things in life! you are so busy with your life that you are stuck in your own la la land and therefore you stop noticing the world around you or why going to college and having that degree will boost your paycheck and income, and learning something from the most unlikely people! and yes there is a God if you believe in one and pray and hope!he in the most difficult times is the person that answers your prayers and takes away the pain and helps you strive for success and gives you second and third chances in life like he did with me after my two car wrecks in which in one i was extremely close-2 inches- away from dying and the other in which i could of went into the ICU!if you keep telling yourself that everything is pointless as well as that you will rot maybe it will come true since you have such a strong negative outlook on life! you will be judged and go to either heaven or hell depending on your actions and so forth!you are so young and yet a lost soul who thinks that you should not care or that everything is pointless and that in college you should actually pay attention and learn the most unlikely lessons from the most unlikely people!stop being so pesimistic and start enjoying life and what it has to offer because once gone it does not come around for a second time so make the most of everything!

If you thought a little in this word (die) , you will find that it has no subject .. I mean none can do it by himself ..other than (kill) .. so , you have to have faith that it is not your decision to die .. and you have to know that you are existed in life for some higher reason .. just put your legs on the right way .. and you will find answers for all of your inquiries ..

death is a transition from one form to another, just like your shirt is torn and changing a new shirt,no big deal but the problem is the new shirt, you got a human form now,you cannot guarantee that you will have a human form in your next life,in order to gain it you have to practise the ten good[ten commandments or the ten percepts]since you know you are going to die anyway,do make the best of your life, first have a goal a simple goal,be a good son,be good to your parents, brothers and sisters, relative and friends, help others and be more selfless, practise it for a month and tell us about living again.Hope to see your question in Y answers soon!Happy living

I'll go for the scientific over the philisophical answer....overpopulation (duh). If no one died and there continued to be births the world would overpopulate, without any way to die we would be compressed further and further until it was a living "hell" with no room to turn around let alone go anywhere, no food, and no resources. If there was no birth as well (a tad depressing) then you'd likely be so bored with living with the same people for eternity you would want to die anyways.

That has always been my question, that is one reason I do believe in God, he gives me a reason to live.
My religion however, is much different from most people. I do not believe in organized religion, I do not believe God meddles in every day affairs, I however believe that he has given this world to us, for us to do the best we and help others. It's called Deism, and I couldn't want it any different
