I am currently doing a paper for my Philosophy class and I am in need of a little help. For those of you who are familiar with the subject, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain Charles Peirce’s four approaches to philosophy a little better. I am not totally getting what the book is saying and it’s leaving me very confused. I’ve looked online but can’t seem to find anything on the subject either, so if anyone has links that would be very helpful too. I know the approaches are: method of tendency, method of authority, priori (method of intuition), and method of science, which I know he favored. But other than that I am a little lost. Thanks for the help!

We cannot choose where we are born, our ethnicity, our gender, our nationality, our parents, , the religion we are born into, our names, how we look like, etc., yet look how big of a deal society makes about these things. People suffer so much because of society makes such a huge deal out of such trivial things that we cannot even choose, that we are born into out of mere chance. We are all human beings, so why does it matter that by mere chance we are born into these circumstances? The world is a terrible place because people have allowed their stupidity to put so much emphasis on such trivial things.

There’s all the terrible things going on in the world, and then the personal problems, of course, and on top of that, people telling you things about your existence and then people talking of the afterlife, how we’re all doomed to go to hell and such. There seems to be no meaning in it at all, and I feel so lost and miserable.
