There’s all the terrible things going on in the world, and then the personal problems, of course, and on top of that, people telling you things about your existence and then people talking of the afterlife, how we’re all doomed to go to hell and such. There seems to be no meaning in it at all, and I feel so lost and miserable.

It's O.K. to feel like that. This means you have a mind of your own. Some people will believe something without any proof, just because everyone else believes it. You have been given a gift, you are smarter than some, and are now on a journey to figure out what you think is real. Life sucks sometimes, true. That is truth number one. Now, what are other truths you can find about life? Keep asking questions.

I use to think about this stuff, death, pollution, drugs, Killers, child molesters, phony people.I was born facing terrible things. I thought my life was doomed from the beginning. After all how many people can actually change their lives, starting like this. I was miserable I thought there was no hope. Then I decided to change the way I was thinking. After all I only have one life. And it is my choice how I look at things. I put thing in prospective, My life was a challenge, and peace was my goal. Each day I try to do something good, not ignore but not dwell on the bad. As far as death, it is going to come, I can fret from now to then,But I am not going to do it.Because I cannot change it. Live for today and make each day as good as you can. don't worry about the thing you cannot change and change the things you can. Plus name some things you are thankful for. I am thankful today for my sanity, something I won't let this world have. for the rain I love it, it washes the earth, And Jesus who is always there for me.

If some one is doing things..maybe,.. telling you things that make you feel bad under those pretenses... Pray for them to be better christians and/ or people! And were not all doomed, I know I am going to heaven, hope to see you there!!!!

My friend, Life will have no meaning unless you give it meaning.
The question is intensely personal, and requires a personal response.
An alcoholic who dies puking in the street can be said to have had a meaningless life, because he wasted it and through it away. Buddhists say Life is precious. That is something worth thinking about, over and over. Considering all the suffering that we go through, it really is a tragedy if we just give up and surrender to despair. Make your life count for something. Find a cure for a disease. Invent something that makes people's lives easier and more pleasant. Serve people who are ill - a life of service may not be exciting, but at least it is useful, and even noble in a way. You can find your way out of this. Kirkegaard is well worth reading.

Not of life, but of certain situations in life. If you dwell on the negatives they will feed on you. I get the feeling that you don't want any more advice just now. That's cool. You are your best teacher. Life is a gift. You're dead a long time.

Sometimes, but that's normal, human nature. But what you have to keep in mind is that one day, you'll be out of your duldrums and out enjoying the wonders of life, you just have to believe that you can, no matter how hard it may be sometimes. And it always helps to confide a friend.
