I don't... I believe that everything we do has a purpose and is intentional... And that there really are no "random" moments within our lives... But, I also understand that one might simply mean that they are simply wishing someone well... What is your view...?

It just seems strange that the leaders of many western countries condemned the recent cartoons of Muhammad (regarded by many Muslims as blasphemous) while not even flinching at the fact that cartoons of Jesus have sometimes been a lot worse. Are Christians are just expected to laugh it off?

I have often noticed that most people fall into three distinct character types based upon this simple question.

Which of these defines you as a person?

Are you among those for whom the past (their own or in general) is the factor by which you live?

Or, do you believe that the best for you is yet to come, imagining a bright and brilliant future?

How many of you out there are having your best time right now? Carpe diem!

Personally, I am living for the future. You?

He has given us a synthesis of the East and West by "The Life Divine,"(which if you wish to read it, it is quite fun to read 1100+ pages of philosophy), he has given his own vision of unity with diversity through "The Ideal of Human Unity," and has granted one of the foremost epics of the English Language, "Savitri." Although I am of the West, he speaks with more fluidity than both Milton and Kant put together.

I think if we can imagine the forest we can imagine the sound. I know the point is supposed to be that only humans seem to have to categorize their world by naming things and phenomena as in a disturbance of the air in the form of waves is only sound when we hear it and call it that. But, I think the original question is ill-formed since a forest is not a forest until we see it and name it as such - so how could a tree fall in it if we weren't there to call it a tree or see it fall?
