Was it possible to have sex in the old days without becoming pregnant? Did they have their own kind of condoms? Nowadays people seem to do it for fun, without thinking about a baby. Was it possible to do the same in like the B.C. era. Because I was watching an Ancient Greek movie and they did it without having a baby.

When do you think this was and why??? Personally, I was thinking maybe around the industrial revolution but then I thought of how people were also greatly suffering during that time. Would the USSR have become as powerful as quickly?
Would they have been bigger than they were at the end of the cold war?
More communism or more democracy?
Did rebuilding Europe do good things for their modernization that otherwise wouldn't have happened?
Would we be more or less technologically advanced?

What are your thoughts?

It is been 140 odd years since the civil War in this country. I have, recently been looking for books about the war which have not been heavily slanted toward the winner's side. Are there books that are not propaganda about the War?
thanks

He took a nation that was demoralized and united it.
He gave the nation a mission or focus.
His engineers built and invented Freeways.
The German economy boomed.
He gave the German people back their confidence in themselves.
Why am I asking this question? I'm asking this question because most people only know the very narrow and limited history they learn in public schools. History is not just one sided. There are many good things that notorious leaders have done. If you ask, "Was Hitler good for Germany?" Yes in the beginning. But how many people actually take the time to read history? Many talk about it, but few know it!

I know that many, many people, including soldiers, died as a result of this disease, so did all the deaths really make a noticeable outcome on the result of the war? Had there not been this sudden epidemic, would there be a different ending in the war?

The statement I'm trying to disprove is as follows:
Israel and Pakistan are the only two countries in the world that were created on the basis of religion.
