Lots of bombs, particularly incendiary bombs, were dropped on Japan while both Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman were president.
The atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki when Truman was president.

Yes it was Truman...I have some info that will impress your teacher(assuming this is for school.) He did it to save american lives, EVERYTHING within 50 miles was COMPLETELY vaporized, nothing was there, It was hot enough to melt peoples clothes to their skin and an unbeliavable fact is that it was bright enough it burned shadows into sidewalks. The two we dropped were named Little Boy and Fat Man, Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima and Fat man was dropped on Nagasaki
