They only became what we call "Indians" after they migrated.

If it is so, it means there are many different tribes in America back then, not only a single tribe? But how do you explain the fact that they all share the same gene?

I would certainly say that more people were ruthlessly murdered in the Soviet Gulag and Mao's Great Leap Forward than the entire Holocaust. Why do we have numerous musuems, monuments, and memorials to the Holocaust but nearly nothing remembering the Gulag and Communist China's oppresion?

Other examples of such debates pertaining to different issues would be:
***
-The extent of advancement and size of populations in pre-Columbus America
-The intent of the constitution and founding fathers
-Whether or not President Jackson actually promoted democracy
-How we should see slavery as it fits into our understanding of broader US history
-The causes of the civil war
-Whether or not the frontier represented an ideal of individualism
-The motivations behind progressive reformers
-Causes of the great depression
-The radicalism of the New Deal
-The morality of dropping the atomic bomb
-Justification of the Vietnam War
***
So along those lines, what are the issues regarding radical movements and civil rights movements and counterculture etc. that historians are disagreeing about?
