Maybe but doubtful and for a reason not listed by others. The industrial might of the united States had not provided sufficient materiale to fight as generals wanted to on different parts of the European front---with this in mind, Eisenhower did a brilliant job of keeping the total front moving at approxiately the same time by rationing the available supplies to all generals.

i think you have the question worded wrong.
Patton was restrained by his superiors... to the point of being a decoy for the D-Day landings and for the first few months the Allies where in Western Europe. He was finally allowed to return to the battlefield in late 1944 and immeadiately had an impact and helped win the Battle of the Bulge and helped push the Allies faster and futher then they expected. If he would have NOT be restrained we could have won the war in europe sooner.
As an aside, Patton also wanted to turn around and attack the Russians, which at the time was a political impossibility, but in hindsight might have prevented the Cold War.

"Do you think General George Patton could HAVE ended the war in Europe sooner if he was restrained by HIS superiors?"
If you are interested in this period of history, General Patton, and his relationship with his superiors, and this is not just a Homework Help question - I suggest you read 'The Soul of Battle'.

i imagine the war ought to have ended quicker. As to Berlin the english and the individuals were watching for be conscious from Eisenhower to pass in. For some reason he enable the russians take the city of Berlin. From the documentary I watched the yankee infantrymen suggested at the same time as they arrived in Berlin the Russians had taked administration of the city and made threating feedback to them. This became the starting up of the chilly war between Russia and united statesthat is why Patton did not like or have self assurance the russians.

He may have ended the war with Germany sooner, but left unrestrained, he would've got us into a war with the Red Army....but that might not have been a bad thing....or would it??? hmmmm, more deaths and the overwhelming force of the Red Army would've meant we'd have to retarget "fat man" and "little boy" from their dates with destiny over Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
