He was born 24th November 1880. Was also known as Bud or O.L.

Have a question regarding a strange situation. A young woman in her late 20's/early 30's dies suddenly in a car accident. There is no obituatry in ANY of the papers (and this happened in the largest city in the USA) and her father does not contact all the friends in her mobile phone until 2 days after she was buried. (some were contacted in time to go to viewing and funeral but most of us didn't know she passed away until after she was already buried.) The father refused to give his address so we could send flowers saying "we don't want any flowers". 1 year later - there still is no headstone for her - and she's buried in a family plot where there is already a stone with the family name & the names of other relatives buried there. Why would her parent's being so "secretive" about her death? Not even a marker or adding her name to the family headstone after a year? No obituary? Not calling her friends until after she's buried? Why would someone do that? Help me understand.

In the IGI I have an Eliza Longbottom born 1820 Birstall, parents Joseph and Ann.
I looked on the IGI for a Joseph and Ann marriage within a few years of 1820.
There was just one it could be - in 1814 birstall
Joseph married Hannah.
Are hannah and ann interchangeable names. What is the likelikihood of this being the same person?

I’ve noticed that some people when asked about where they are from they reply with a few different nationalities like “My mother's mother is half British and half American and my dad's dad is half Jamaican and half Scottish” which is ok but then some people go as far back as their great great grandparents

What’s the point in this? Do their nationalities really have anything to do with the person I’m asking about anymore?

I would usually not think or really care about this but I was talking to a girl who said she was 1/14 Jamaican which I don’t understand at all! Is that possible?

What's the point couldn’t we just start over and say we are 'wherever we were born'?
