Stanton Bailey married Lydia Comer in Wayne Co Indiana,1831. This courthouse marriage got Lydia expelled from the New Garden MM for marrying contrary to discipline. No entry exists in the 1965 Indiana Quaker Indices for a Stanton & Lydia after the marriage, and no signs of this Stanton being related to the elder Stanton in Randolph & Wayne Co. Stanton died before 1850, where Lydia appears remarried to a William Kirkman. No sign in Quaker Index. Lydia is dead by 1860, William remarries moves to Missouri. Lydia & Stanton's sons move to Whitley then Starke Co.
No will or probate found for Lydia or this Stanton in Wayne Co. Eldest daughter Nancy Bailey married John Thornburg who was from a Quaker family, youngest married his brother George. JT & Nancy apparently were Quakers still when they moved to Iroquois Co Illinois. No sign of any others staying in Quaker Faith, no apparent listing of JT's marriage in Quaker Index from 1965. Grave locations for Stanton and Lydia unknown.
