I'm interested in antique jewelry. I've seen a few antique lockets with this symbol on them http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140026058576&fromMakeTrack=true#ebayphotohosting . Do you know what it means?

I don't think it's a monogram, because I've seen the very same sign on a few of them.
In the olden days, people used mourning lockets, say, with a lock of hair in them, to remember the dead. Could this be something about alpha and Omega (a Biblical symbol for Christ, the beginning and the end, like the start and end of the Greek alphabet)?

After recently visiting both Ireland and Italy I learned something interesting. First, if you're not born in Ireland people in Ireland don't consider you Irish. If you're not born in Italy, people in Italy don't consider you Italian. Also, Ireland isn't really a drinking culture. So next time you call yourself an Irish drunk you are just proving how not Irish you are.
