After recently visiting both Ireland and Italy I learned something interesting. First, if you're not born in Ireland people in Ireland don't consider you Irish. If you're not born in Italy, people in Italy don't consider you Italian. Also, Ireland isn't really a drinking culture. So next time you call yourself an Irish drunk you are just proving how not Irish you are.

You confused the decendants of people that left Italy and Ireland 100 years ago, with those that live their now.
My childs great-great-grandparents left two god-awful places, Italy and Ireland, now they are great places.

How is this a question?

Additionally, why is that weird? Do we consider people not born in the U.S. to be Americans? Also there is a lot of drinking in Ireland. I have family there (I'm an American though) and they have taken me out to drink a lot. I mean, it's not like the Irish sit around drinking all day like the slurs against them go, but they are definitely a drinking race.

If you talk about where you were born, I'm 100% Italian. Because I live in Canada, I'm proudly Canadian and I like adjusting my culture to others'. I feel more 100% daughter of this planet, belonging to every country that shares common ideals of life and humanity, peace and social values.....

So what you are saying is that if you were not born in the U.S. you are not American? I'll have to get all my Irish buddies together, get drunk and fight about it.
