Fifth Generation Australian, before that most of my ancestors came from England and Ireland. There is also some talk that one large family (surname Manuel) came from Spain or Portugal. The story is that they were pressed into service with the Spanish Armada, and wound up in Cornwall after their ships were sunk or damaged during the battle. Also there are two convicts listed as being direct ancestors, but neither were on the First Fleet.
