I recently arrived in Pune, and I am very interested in Indian classical dance and music, would you know which are the best places to look for interesting shows in the city ? Do you also know if there is any good weekly newspaper on social/cultural events (like delhi diary in delhi) ?

I'm just curious about this. Belly dancing is Middle Eastern in origin, but how does it fit in with conservative Islam, like with women covering their head and everything?

Is bellydancing a pre-Islamic art? Is it just practiced among more liberal Muslims? Or it is practiced by mostly Christians in the Middle East and not Muslims?

i am 14 years old..and i've been in ballet for 2 years...im in a class with about 4 or 5 girls on pointe shoes..i want to go on pointe so badly..and..i've been told i have "dancers feet"..i just feel like im so close..but..yet..i know i have so much to work on..will u help?

I think it is so hot! If guys would just dance like ballet, ballroom, jazz or hip-hop. That is one thing i want my boy friend to do. Guys why don't you dance? And how many girls agree with me? And the guys don't have to be gay. Has any one seen " center stage"?
I dance and i think it would be cool if my boyfriend did to.

As a dancer I think most people think dancing isnt as hard as it really is? I think the shows like dancing with the stars and so you think you can dance helped people notice how hard it is to really take on dancing. But Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders really went into depth on how dancing is a life style, not a hobby. What do you think?
