I recently arrived in Pune, and I am very interested in Indian classical dance and music, would you know which are the best places to look for interesting shows in the city ? Do you also know if there is any good weekly newspaper on social/cultural events (like delhi diary in delhi) ?

You may try the University of Pune--I'll enclose a link that might explain the classical dance better. If you decide to cruise down to Thrivandrum, Kerala--check out the Margi Theatre. This theatre is awesome--and the Kathakali performances are beautiful and world renound. Happy journey!

TilakSmarak Mandir, Balgandharva Mandir, Bharat Natya Gruha are the 3 most happening places in pune for cultural events, the schedules are displayed otuside on notice board...u can also checkout with Sakal, Loksatta, Lokmat and Maharastra times these are the local news papers...Sakal has site esakal.com...if u r interested in films u can join National Film Archieve at Law College Road

Schools in Pune usually have cultural shows, I guess you can watch.
