i'm a huge reader. a few years ago, i set out to read all the books by my favorite authors. i normally read a book a day, give or take, depending on the size of the book. but since i've real everything by all my well known authors, i find myself going to the library and checking out books i don't really enjoy. so i need some help. i've read Jayne ann Krents, Lisa Kleypas, Nora Roberts, James patterson, suzanne brockmann, stephen king, anne rice, luanne rice, and tori carrington, in addition to having read every book Harlequin Blaze has produced since the line started. so now i just wait for new books to be released. i need some new authors? any suggestions?

I have to decide on a new book to read by tomorrow, but I am not sure what I would like to read. Some books that I have read lately and enjoyed are The Kite Runner and The DaVinci code. Could anyone recommend a book for me?

My story is set in the victorian era. There is an 18 year old girl who can no longer bear to live her life of prostitution, so she attempts suicide, but is rescued by a gentleman. His sister has a mysterious secret, and offers to take this prostitute in. So, this girl enters into the world of power and priviledge.....And the gentleman who had rescued her slowly falls for her, but he is a rather self-centered man, and so felt that he preferred the acceptance of society rather than to be with the person he loved (the prostitute)

What I need is to summarize this into a very short sentence, or sentences. So far, I have this:

"She was unwanted and lone, a prostitute working in the filthiest slums. But through it all, she survived, destined for something more."

Doesn't this sound a little too dull? Any other better suggestions?

There is a solitude of space
by Emily Dickinson

There is a solitude of space
A solitude of sea
A solitude of death, but these
Society shall be
Compared with that profounder site
That polar privacy
A soul admitted to itself—
Finite infinity.

i need help with what this poem is about, the tone of the poem, what the "profounder site" and the "polar privacy" mean. thanks :)

because i want to know whether or not im getting dumber.. because i used to read on a post-highschool reading level and have never had trouble (barring the time i tried to read a Tale of Two cities while in the 7th grade.. i gave up quickly) reading and understanding books... but that book threw me round the loop! I understood the basic plot and what was happening throughout the story.. but i had to go slow and reread alot of stuff and read back and do alot of work to keep it in my head.. basically though, after about the time Lydia runs off i had not trouble. But the most of the beginning, the dialogue and sentence structure had me soo confused!

All of Stephenie Meyers books are awesome, but why did she go and leave Edward out? He's the glue that holds the book together!

My concerns center around manipulation of the government by "the industry" to increase their profit margins at any cost and the effects those decisions have had on consumers, employees, and suppliers. What did you think after reading Fast Food Nation?
