DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD WRITING CONTESTS OR ANY THAT YOU HAVE ACTUALLY WON?

check out writer's digest magazine-they hold several writing competitions annually, including a "short short story" contest I have entered twice but have yet to win.

Another is National Novel Writing Month-held 1 November to 30 November. This is more of a challenge-which is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. you don't get any cash but you get a certificate if you get to 50,000 words within the time frame.

I won 2nd place for this creative short story about energy in the future. energy didn't have to be a significant part of the story just some part.

I wrote about the life of a tiger, currently endangered, from the tiger's point of view.

I think that besides writing a story, this year people can enter films too. If I have time, I hope to enter in it again. (last year it was an assignment for my environment science class) I think you have to be in high school to do this though.
