he wants Lenny and him 2 work up enuff money 2 get a farm that they can fill with soft rabbits
l8r they r joined by candy, an old man with no family left who needs some1 2 live with
SPOILER:
in the end Lenny accidentally kills Curley's wife (breaks her neck) and runs away from the farm.
all the guys on the farm r trying 2 find him so they can kill him
George finds him first and shoots him with a gun so that Lenny dies quickly and painlessly instead of being tortured by the men

Oh it's been a long time since I read that book but from what I can remember Lennie was like a mentor to George because George was kinda slow.

George was a father figure to Lenny. George was keeping Lenny in line when he did something stupid. He ordered him around and forbade him to do certain things.
You really should read the book, it is awesome.

George is mentally deficient i.e. retarded and Dick takes care of him and tells him how to run things. Dick has to be constantly on gaurd because George is always stirring up trouble. At one point in the book George starts a war with a mideast country and Dick is unable to save his bacon. The war in the mideast country causes great strife on the ranchs where George and Dick are working which allows the evil Democrats a foothold into deciding how the outcome of the book will go. You see George and Dick dream of saving up enough money to buy a rabbit farm someday. However Georges mideast war ends up costing all of their savings. So they end up working on a rabbit farm run by evil democrats who will not give Dick any ketchup for his beans at all but george is such a nice guy he says Dick you can have all of the ketchup for your beans and I wont have any ketchup at all.
But in the end George starts thermonuclear warfare and kills everyone. The End

George feels a fatherly or big brotherly affection for the slow-witted Lenny . He is Lenny's protector from a society which is cruel to the mentally retarded and there is no homosexual tie-in.
Steinbeck's 'Thirties' had no homosexuality.

This was one of our favorites in high school. I think we did it in drama club.
I don't think their relationship was gay.
I think George saw Lennie as a good person who really needed help. I think this story is particularly applicable with today's homeless people. I work in a social service agency and sometimes see pairs of down and out people who help one another in various ways.

if you read the book, its very clear what type of relationship they have. you should do your homework instead of asking everyone else for the answers, you will eventually get caught
