I can't think of any animal thats like romeo or any other character in the book.

Romeo- seems canine, his first fantasy love is Rosaline. -Dog
Juliet-childish, no friends her age, but keen and determined -feline-cat
Friar Lawrence - kindhearted cleric , tall in religion - giraffe
Mercutio-full of puns, jokes, teasing. This is definitely -fox
Lady Capulet- Crested crane
Tybalt- this guy will fight to death-rhino
Paris- this presumptuous royalty is -king cobra
Nurse- yes this is a -swan

Juliet's nun could be a big chicken. I see her clucking about telling Juliet her mother is approaching while she is in bed with Romeo.
