I need to read a book and write a paper for my health class. An example that my teacher gave was Christopher Reeve's book about his injuries or a book about someones battle with cancer. It has to be a physical (not mental) illness. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just finished The Bear and The Dragon and in it it referred to prior events that sounded interesting. How did Ryan become President? What happened in Japan? Can someone tell me the title of the two books that preceed the one I just finished? I really want to read them. thank You

the subject could be anything and it doesn't have to rhyme
here it is:

We only got one world
And something's wrong with it
We do know what it is
But no one takes action

We made destructive global warming
We invented harmful wars
We have so many disasters
This is not just another warning

Don't ignore the facts
Don't settle for fiction
if no one else acts
The doesn't mean you can't take action

can you try to add similis and/or mataphors??plz!?

I won't say exactly what it's about, but it has to be suspenseful and leave the reader wanting to read the story.

the story involves a lot of spirits and such.

or if anyone could tell me really good synonyms for scary?

Thanks!

ok i never was a book worm. and i always found that reading was boring. but since i have gotten older, im finding myself wanting to read. i want to get into the swing of this with some good books. because i know if i start to read a book that boring and all. it will take me a long time to pick up another one. I'll give you some idea's of stuff that im interested in. i like non fictions, mysteries, some fiction is find, war, romance but it would really have to be a good book, anything on them lines or even if you have a good book. i dont even know where to even start so that's why im asking. all i need is the name of some really good books.

Mary Shelly, in her novel, Frankenstein, uses a structure where Walten narrates Frakenstein's story, who himself narrates the monster's story. Why is this important and what significance does it have towards author's intent?

Thanks in advance!

this is a book by Lorraine Massey. has anybody used this process? did it work for you? i am a little doubtful, cause from what i can tell, you arent supposed to shampoo your hair? does the methods of cleaning mentioned work? what about when you hair is really dirty (like you have been swimming in chlorine or something?

i really just want to know whether it works, and whether your hair can still be clean and healthy? cause if it does work, that would be great.

Clive Barker is one of the best thinkers in fiction. None of his stories are predictable, mainly because they're so far out. But they're not too far out be enjoyable or downright disturbing. Some of my favorite stories came from the Books of Blood (particularly "Hell's Race"). What imagination!

I am not sure when it was written, but it was a old book when I read it in high school 20 years ago. It was about a retarded guy who either had an opperation, or took some kind of medicine that made him very smart, but he knew it was only a temporary thing and he would soon be like he was before. All I remember about the title of it was that it was his name with one of the letters backward. I would really like to read it again.
