I thought that Albom's best selling book was one of the most touching works I have read in a long time. It was interesting how the protagonist, Eddie, was connected in direct and indirect ways to his "heaven guides". While he was not always sure of the direction of his life as a park worker on Ruby Pier, his guides allude to the significance of his existence in the lives of others who interact with him. Although I have read many books, this novel impacted me in such a personal way that I actually cried towards its conclusion. This book illustrates the ways in which all people are inextricably linked together and how we should all embrace the sweetness of life even when it may not appear so on the surface. Great question!
