Ultimately it's about social class battles. It shows that assumed "bad" people can do good deeds. And it's about the struggle of life in dealing with classism and socio-economic status issues.

The theme is in the title - the outsiders. Social outcasts, products of broken families, victims of poverty, undereducated, despairing.
But the inverse is - they were also insiders. With each other, within what remained of their family, with the gang, with other outcasts.
This duality sets Hinton's book far above others and in my mind, is the true theme. Because they were outcasts, they had to cling to each other; this enforced closeness led to genuine caring and respect.
Contrast this 'social group' with the name of the bullies and rival gang - the Socs. There was nothing in their behavior that hinted at 'social' other than their anti-social behavior. So, the outcast kids were the genuine article, the real Socs (with all its attendant values of work, education, family, etc.). And the kids with the most social advantages (middle-class, cars, white) had all the negative traits associated with 'greasers'.

There were many themes for this book. Hatred, murder, death, and outcasts are all themes. Actually, I did a project on the themes for this book. Trust me, I know these are pretty right. Jut think of what is happening in the story. Dont gfet it confused with mood though.

OH I LOVED THAT BOOK!!!!
The theme is to stick with your friends and be be there side no mattter what. The book featured the greasers and the Socs and they were like rivals in social standards. The greasers were poor while th Socs were rich who wore madrid. It says to never give up on your family or the people you love and trust the most. They will always be there for you in good and bad times. In bad times like when poor Johnny dies (DAMN THOSE SOCS!! >:()
Hope this helped!

The theme is that no matter if you are a soc from uptown or a greaser from the wrong side of the tracks, you both have feelings, you both have problems and you both can see and appreciate the very same sunset.

Wow. Looks like you have a water ride based off of a minor scene in the book, ice cream, fire pits, a house where people jump out at you, and a love tunnel ride. Sounds like fun. I'm really going to pay $100 to get in there.

Since his parent' death, his loyalties have been to his brother's and his gang. the rough, swinging,long-haired boys from the wrong side of the tracks. When his best friend, Johnny, kills a member of a rival gang, a nightmare of violence begins and swiftly envelops Ponyboy in a turbulent chain of events. Need anymore? Let me know.
