Jack Ryan is a character in a few of Tom Clancy's books including:
The Hunt for Red October (1990)
Patriot Games (1992)
Clear and Present Danger (1994)
The Sum of All Fears (2002)
The Bear and the Dragon was published in 2002, but i'm not sure the publishing dates have anything to do with the series sequence, you'd have to check into that.
I hope this helps ^.^

Debt of honor, Executive orders, Rainbow Six, The Bear and the Dragon. Yes, it was a fantastic series. The first two are better than bear and dragon, in my opinion.
Hard to believe the same guy wrote The Teeth of The Tiger. Terrible book in comparison.
Other good books by Clancy-Red Rabbit.
I got over his stuff after teeth of tiger, I have been reading some westerns that are quite good also.

Debt of Honor and Executive Order.
Ryan started his career in the CIA. And then he worked in the White House as the President's advisor. Not long, he was asked to be Vice President. At the moment nearing his inaguration, a jumbo commercial plane that had been hijacked by the Japanese intentionally crashed it on the Capitol. Almost all people died, including the US President, ministers, ambassadors, etc. Practically there was no government. Jack Ryan became the President.
Then in Executive Order, many incidents happened that would culminate in an attempt to kill Ryan. Ebola outbreak, the killing of Iraqi President by his bodyguard, hostage situation where Ryan's youngest daughter was taken, etc.

Jack Ryan was liked by the President, the vice president resigned and Ryan was appointed. During the state of the nation address, a 747 crashed into congress killing the president. Ryan was then the new president. Now I am going from memory here.
An f15 shot down a Japanese fighter and the man who crashed the plan into congress was the father of the Japanese pilot.
Sorry, thats all I can remember
