I remember Harold and the Purple Crayon fondly. And also my father reading me Dr. Seuss. I'm sure you all have books you remember from childhood, and I'm wondering what some of the most enduring storybooks are. Also, if you could share a little of what made it so special to you. Thanks!

I have not yet read the book, nor have I seen the movie. Would someone like to give me a short summary of either? If anyone would like to recommend one over the other, I'd be glad to see comments. If anyone wants to compare the two, I'd also like to see that. Thank you (oh, I am not a student looking for an easy way--I have just been unable to rent the movie, or get the book from the library)

I'm working on a novel project and I have to make a poetry connection. My theme is the inevitability of death and I need to find a published poem by an accomplished author (sorry no Chicken Soup books or random online writers). I know Emily Dickinson wrote alot about death, but I sometimes have a tough time deciphering what she is saying. Anyway, if someone could help me locate a poem (Dickinson or not), I would greatly appreciate it!

i get Janie's journey is like a hero journey, taken from sommon, everyday world of others' expectations, through test, and then back home, changed by experience.

i don't really get the Janie's whole progression from epiphany to identity.

can you give some example or quote from the book to get it.

I am writing a book, and i want a very unique name. One that readers will remember. If you do a name, please include it's meaning, also. It doesn't matter if it's from a different language, or is from a tall tale. Thank You!

I'm writing a series of short stories. I've got ideas for some, and they are sort of fantasy stories with drama, romance and tragedy in them. I'm a bit soft though so they'll probably all have happy endings.why short stories? I don't have a long enough attention span to write a novel. I've started writing one about 3 girls with tragic pasts living in a workhouse in a parallell world to 19th century Ireland, and another about a teenage boy who meets a magical girl in a parallell world to 18th century london. not giving details in case someone takes them. what do you think? would you buy it?

I am looking for a good romance novel or something really good, a pageturner, something to really hold my attention.
I don't really like future or fantasy books, I like the mystery and romancy kind. Especially a really good love story!
