There was this fiction called Torn Thread about a girl who had to work in a factory instead of the concentration camps. It's pretty good, but aimed more towards younger kids. And then there's The Diary of Anne Frank of course.

Are you looking for something specifically on the Holocaust? If so, check out the graphic novel MAUS or MAUZ (pronounced mouse, however you spell it in German). Also, Victor Frankl's Man's Search For Meaning is really excellent. It's not fiction, but the first half of the book contains vignettes of his experiences of the Holocaust which are similar to Wiesel's but from a more mature point of view.
You know that Wiesel wrote a sequel to Night called Day or Dawn or something didn't you? I think there is a third also.
When I read Night, I had to read two other WW2 books that were excellent and similar themes: All Quiet On The Western Front and For Whom The Bell Tolls. Both of those are really famous and pretty easy reads with complex themes. I had to read them all three together when I was a freshman in college.

If you liked night then you will love Daniels Story by Carol Matas. It too is about the holocaust and a family that is sent to a concentration camp and yes of course some romance, but not so much. I also enjoyed the book Touching Spirit Bear, and the diary of Anne Frank ( also about the holocaust )

Have you read Wiesel's other books? You can go to any Lit. teacher and get a large number of classics suggested to you. Just go to the library or B & N near you and ask. Sorry, but I'm not sure what you are looking for either, so I'll refrain from actual titles. I will tell you that Steinbeck wrote OF MICE AND MEN though.

If you like WW2 books, than consider the diary of anne frank, but if you want to read a really interesting book about the prospects of liefe, consider Siddhartha or the dao of Pooh. There are alot of great books out there, check out your local library and see!

I would really recommend THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zusak if you are interested in reading a book set it Nazi germany. Its fiction and definitely different to other stories set during this period.
