Mrs.A's daughter (Ellen) eloped with a poor guy,and Ellen dies after having a miscarriage. Mrs.A has a deep scar: she feels betrayed by her daughter, and always repeats to herself "if only she had listened to me!"

Then, a girl name Ann (16yrs old) becomes the ward of Mrs.A's handsome but apathetic cousin,Mr. Rutherford. Ann reminds Mrs.A of Ellen--Ann is spirited and strong-headed. Mrs.A feels it her duty to direct Ann down the right path."Ann will die like Ellen if she doesn't obey me!" thinks Mrs.A.

So, when Mr.Rutherford passes Charlote down to Mrs.A's care.Ann is devastated cuz she was in love with Mr.Rutherford (a childish infatuation?)

Mrs.A becomes a bit violent at times. She shatters Ann's self-confidence,and also makes Ann physically weak. Mrs.A feels that if Ann relies on her, mind and body, then Ann wont go the wrong path....

And then 3yrs later,Mr.Rutherford returns, and sees how much Ann has changed. Ann blames him for what she has become. There's romance too~

Help with my story!?
Charlotte goes under the gaurdianship of her distant cousin, Mr. Rutherford. (What should is character be like?? The "arrogant and cold" kinda character seems too cliche these days.....but then I don't want him to be a friendly gentleman. Doesn't work out with me) Charlotte falls in love with him.......but why shouldn't Mr. Rutherford fall in love with her?? She's 16 yrs old at this time, and when he leaves her, and returns from Paris 3 years later to see she's all grown up he falls in love with her??? I don't know, give me to physcological reason of why Mr. Rutherford shouldn't like Charlotte in the beginning. Like....he likes her......but not enough??

Hi, have you read "The Ambler Warning" by Robert Ludlum?
Is there really such a place called 'Parrish Island' off the coast of virginia? And other things he talks about in that, PSU, Cons Op, etc.. is that all real or just fiction?

I wish you knew this other ride
Travels to a different side
Where everything just seems to be slowing
But the miles just keep on rolling
The road fades midnight black and blue
But chances are you have no clue

Most come here to post
Others to just get lost
To disappear
And then reappear
With clearer thoughts in pursue
But chances are you have no clue

I’m back on this road again
Allied with my very best friend
Penciling all the things I lack
And all the things I got right on track
All my missed chances
All those so close dances
And how those dreamy dreams almost came true
But chances you have no clue

My heart beats
It beats-demanding release
There is just no room left for all the Passion
The Passion wants out
no longer caring to be confined

No more monotony it screams
to the unhearing world.
No more expectations, no more paths
I want to stumble through the forest

Thorns tear my very skin off these bones
Rip the shreds of pride and dignity
from my hurtling body
Gorge out my eyes, tear my hair
Take my everything
Just dont take my heart

If nothing else goes onward
in that wild, thickened forest
let my Passion go

Let my Passion streak and battle
through the bramble until at last
it reaches the other side

If nothing else is left of me but that-
my heart, my Passion, my soul-so be it
So be itand let it soar

And if you dont allow
if your express permission is not granted
Then collect yourchains and shacklesaround you
Gather yourguns and yourknives
Calloutyour tanks andyour men
Make yourspeeches
Andpray
Becauseyou,myfriend,arenomatch

These days i am reading the book Thus Spake Zarathustra, by Friedrich Nietzsche. Difficult is the book, i think, many for me need explaining. The following is one from it:" I would fain bestow and distribute, until the wise have once more become joyous in their folly, and the poor happy in their riches." Would you please explain the sentence to me? I will greatly appreciate if you give explanations in simple English and some example. Thank you.

The Doubleday Encyclopedias (my grandmothers) are a complete set and copyrighted 1931. They are in excellent condition. Interesting to read how World War I was called the Great War because WWII hadn't happened yet.

The Shakespeare set is a hard cover 18 volume arrangement of all his plays. They are in excellent condition and copyrighted 1909.

Can anyone hazard a guess as to what these books might be worth or direct me to some business or person who might be interested in buying them?

cause i've written one. Its a short story and its better than it sounds.

Excerpt:
"The headlines of the local newspaper read, "Three Cops Disappear, One Found." They thought they had the whole story. They’re wrong. Only two people know the whole story. Would you like to meet them? Well, if you happen to be a cop, or happen to know one, they would be delighted to have you for dinner."

That's the intro. the back of the book says,

"The headlines of the local newspaper read, "Three Cops Disappear, One Found." They thought they had the whole story. They’re wrong. Only two people know the whole story. Would you like to meet them? Well, if you happen to be a cop, or happen to know one, they would be delighted to have you for dinner."

Join one cop, Kyle Fent as he discovers the grisly truth about his new partner. But will he make it through dinner to tell the tale?
