I'll explain it this way. I LOVED Twilight and I loved New Moon. New Moon was good. It was just as much a page-turner as Twilight. I enjoyed the reading experience. I don't know if it's because it's a sequel and it's hard to beat or match the original...or if Edward was just missing from the middle and that left just too much of a void...it's different from Twilight. I didn't find the Jacob parts boring. I didn't hate Jacob either. I know some readers did and do. But I'm not one of them. So I think NEW MOON is definitely worth reading (and owning) and reading alongside Twilight. It progresses the story, further develops the characters, etc.

new moon is really exciting, but sad, the middle part (all about jacob black) is sort of boring, but overall this book actually moves on from twilight, it gets somewhere, but twilight and new were both really good, i cried a lot during new moon, so if you're up for romance and sadness, new moon is a whole lot better than twilight, but twilight is better as to edward and what and who he was, new moon was really good in the beginning and the end, go to www.stepheniemeyer.com for more details on the sequel and everything including outakes for twilight and new moon

New moon is good but not as good as Twilight. It's still one of my top favorites. It's good, but i had to read it twice in order to REALLY enjoy the book.....it was a bit distracting...........but despite all of that, i still really enjoyed it.

It was really really good, but I didn't like it as much as Twilight. It was just too sad.
