Where ever you live try finding the smallest copying group, the kind run by former teachers and retail guys trying to branch out on their own. They usually can tell you who binds and sets books in hard cover, and sometimes can tell you where to get a gold-letter embossing for the cover. That is, unless you're lucky and they do it on-site...

If you can't find someone that small, start at the top with the major stores and office supply companies (Kinko's/Office Depot/Staples and the like) and work your way down from there.

Also, when inquiring about such services, remember to get the name of the person referring you or solid directions to the place you're looking for. Sometimes a cashier/salesman will say "It's across from the tennis courts by the community college", and it was - 5 years ago. Now it could be a Starbuck's. Check where you're going, who you'll see, and know what you want and how it should look.

God luck!

Call local printing companies. This is the sort of thing that they either do or contract out. If they don't do this type of work, they can easily find and refer you to someone who does.
You can also look up bookbinders in the yellow pages or online.

Just to add to what's been said above-if you live near a university there is likely to be a thesis binding centre of some description near by and they'll be able to do it for you!
