I sent a manuscript to a company only to find out it was a scam. Are there any real publishers online. What are your sources?

Does reading before bed allow you to remember what you read better, or is this just a myth?

Intelligent but hideously unaware of the rudiments of dressing and grooming appropiately, reluctant consumer of most basic technology -moslty just a pose, which he feels is sufficiently disguised by his lack of a cell phone 'in this day and age'- not really an animal lover but does own one he picked of the street a few years back. Works in a very anonymous position, proletariat kinda job if you know what I man -minumum wage, if you don't- and from this very hole in the dirt he has more or less built for himself at the bottom of the food chain systematically despises most everything. Goes to great lengths in order to do so, reads up on everything he can possibly get his hands on in order to know more about how things really work. I believe he may be a bit paranoid, the self-concious type. (Miss)construes notions on everything he has time to get around and zap with the cynical-ray gun when he is not at work, notions which if he ever chose to share... [to be cont., ran out of space.]

I have a passing knowledge of fair use copywrite laws. I was just curious though. I always felt like if I was buying used books or CDs that I was cheating the author. I know it is perfectly legal, but... If you copy a CD or DVD the author is out of the loop. Go to a used book store and buy a copy, they are out of the loop. I am not trying to rationalize piracy. It just seems that there is something pirated about used material. Just wondering.

Please Im looking for a really good romance novel, for YA[young adults].I dont want fantasy/romance just a pure romance book, thats not all kiddish or stupid and flat, a deep love book, that makes you cry at the end because the book was so "perfect" and the love was so pure and true. I want a book that is kinda long [200 pages and up!!] but short is okay, i want a really good romance novel about TRUE love.. not all the other stuff in between[kiddish, allsex, etc etc]

I don't get to read as often as I would like, but I usually like to pick a good book and give myself a whole month to read it.

Do you have any suggestions for titles I can look through?

I am open to just about anything, but I really love classics (like 'The Three Musketeers' or 'Of Mice and Men') and fiction tales ('Their Eyes Were Watching God' and 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven').

the character lives in medieval times and is like a feminist of that age. she is the mother of the main character and has flaming red hair and brilliant green eyes. she rides astride (not side-sadle) and refuses to remarry (a big deal back then). she weilds a sword and fights as well as a man. what is a name to use that is not at all girlie and as fierce as the character? made up names are best to fit with the time period. thanks for the help...
