I would have to say Alagaesia from the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini, because there are Elves, Dragons, Dwarves, and your able to speak a language in which all beings including animals understand. I just love the idea.

I think I would like to live in Tolkien's Middle-earth, in the peaceful, quiet Shire. Oh to be a hobbit! And live a "simple" life, not much knowing or caring what goes on beyond your own doorstep. Of course, if you wanted a spot of adventure now and again, you could wander a bit and run into some "Big People" in Bree, or maybe chat with some elves, perhaps even be a real risk-taker and seek out a wizard. Yes. Definitely The Shire.

Or maybe.......

Pern. A world that has dragons. Not dragons that devour men, but work with them. Men and women telepathically linked to their dragon companions. It would be awesome to be able to ride a dragon, flying together, fighting Thread together.

On the other hand, that's kind of a dangerous life. Might be better to just be a kid going to school at Hogwarts. I'd like to learn a few spells, got a few people I'd like to levitate (or worse!). Be cool to have your mail delivered by owl. I'm not sure I'd ever figure out the rules of Quidditch though.

Now that I think about it.......maybe Darkover would be good. Or Xanth. Maybe Phaze. Majipoor. Oh, I give up!!

Middle Earth--LOTR- To hang out with the Hobbits. Eat their foods and drink their meads. It sounds like such a great place. Traveling to Butterburr's inn and seeing the mix of cultures would be cool. The elves in Rivendell and Lothlorien would probably be the best. The art and the history is fascinating. Under the mountains with the dwarves. Fighting orcs and goblins. I would love it.
Narnia would be great also. during the reign of the high king Peter of course. Talking to animals and fighting the giants. traveling to the islands and securing their borders. Aslan is the coolest too.

I would say a toss up between Middle Earth and Hogwart. I love LOTR Elves and where they live, but its my dream to be a witch with magic and go to a beautiful castle like Hogwarts and learn magic.

Sequilla, Oklahoma. (I think thats how you spell it). This is the town that Novalee Nation is dropped off in by her boyfriend and father of her child in the book "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts. This is my favorite book in the world. I want to live in the town because she met some of the nicest and understanding people there. It showed the world was good in one way or another. Towns like that still do exist but in small quantities.

The land of Elyon.
From The Land of Elyon by Patric Carman.
To live in a place being so encompassed by the unknown. It sounds exhilarating.
Also has talking animals in it.

19th century Prince Edward Island, Canada...setting for Anne of Green Gables. It's my favorite book, and no matter how old I get, I'll always love Anne! And it seemed to be a simpler time back then, in some ways.

River Heights Illinois - Nancy Drew's hometown. It is a big enough town to have plenty to do and see, but small enough for everyone to know almost everyone else. And heck, I would sue someone just to have Carson Drew as my lawyer.
