I am just curious how I can determine if a book is a first edition. I think I remember hearing once that that series of numbers (1-10) on the copyright page is used to determine, but I cannot remember how to decipher them.

I just finished reading like the awesomest book(s) ever! The titles are Twilight, and New Moon. in a short summary, they're about this girl isabella. she comes to a small town called Forks. She meets a mysterious boy, and falls madly in love with him. She discovers that he's a vampire, but ignores that fact, and it's really sweet.
I soon became addicted to these books, and i just finished them. I am in desperate need of more vampire novels! i already have read all the cirque du freak books, and i am aware of anne rice. I am interested in young adult novels, and i really want one that sucks me in. Any Suggestions?

I have a great idea to write a story, but I'm just not sure how to start. I even have a general plan, but the first words are always daunting.

How do you useally go about starting a story?
What catches a readers attention and holds it for the story to get moving?
Examples? A web page... anythign would help.

I looking to read some new book, does anyone know of any good, Zombie books. Or new Vampier or WereWolves, or just plains monster.

I read just about all of Stephen King and Anne Rice, so please don't recommend them, I've also started reading Dean Koontz books too.

If you know any good ones let me know.

I'm just curious when I get started to do this next year. I've heard from someone from my nonfiction list last year that you select from a three level tier. Have you used it before? Does it work? How many from each level? And what does the three levels stand for? I lost that info.
P.S. Aunt Biwi, I am writing two novels at the same time when a third is on hold, due to writer's block. So I am writing something. :-)
