I love creating names for my characters.....the key is to make it fit with the setting. Eg: this nation has lots of vowels.....while this other one is sharper......
Is your pirate an intellectual evil or stupid evil......a classy name (one you would expect for a hero) will bring the former to life while giving the latter a little too much credit for his worth.
