I looking to read some new book, does anyone know of any good, Zombie books. Or new Vampier or WereWolves, or just plains monster.

I read just about all of Stephen King and Anne Rice, so please don't recommend them, I've also started reading Dean Koontz books too.

If you know any good ones let me know.

If you're into zombies, check out Max Brooks' "World War Z", which is set to be released next Tuesday September 12th.

HP Lovecraft.......many of your modern day horror writers were influenced by him.

Robert McCammon - a great writer - I enjoy his works.

Peter Straub - great horror writer, has actually worked with Stephen King where they both wrote books together.

Clive Barker - weird - lots of monsters

added comment - John Saul is also pretty good

I don't usually read vampire novels, but Vampires, by John Steakley, is a -very- good book. Only slightly like the Carpenter film that is supposed to be based on it. (They left Felix out of the movie entirely. Arrrghhh!)

You haven't read SK's The Stand or Christine. The Shinning is very, very good. You can't say you've read King without reading those.

I was just about to recommend Stephen King, too. Sorry :(

Well, I'll do it anyway. If you haven't read The Shining, Misery, or Rose Madder those are the ones to read.

For a real treat, read Swan Song by Robert R McCammon. I had a hard time putting it down. Most excellent.

Ryan Moses book Evil Way is good. It starts out slow but gets really good. Don't skip through it or you will ruin the story.
