i'm 17 and i'm looking for some good books that i might be able to get into this summer. Nothing too intensely deep or anything, but definitely entertaining and it's gotta be a page turner. I've read dan brown and enjoyed it, the harry potter books are good, and golden compass, subtle knife and amber spyglass were good too.

any suggestions? i'm open to a lot of different genres.

"Better to have love and lost, than to never have loved at all."
I know its from Men in Black, but who originally said it?

I think I've read all the Five Little Peppers books except that one, and Project Gutenberg doesn't have it. I'd rather not pay big bucks for an out-of-print book. Is there an electronic file or e-book I could download for free?

I just finished reading "Uncle Silas" and now I'm raring to get at another mid-1800's horror or ghost thriller. Really anything written before the 20th century is fine, I'm in an old-fashioned book mood right now. I want something really scary and suspenseful! Does anyone know of anything good?

The first book was published in my lifetime, there hasn't even been one entire generation to grow up reading it, much less save the books for their kids. There hasn't been anywhere near enough time for the series to establish itself as a classic.
It's a smash hit, not a "classic".

I'd compare it to the Varney the Vampyre series from 150 years ago. Everyone loved it, it was incredibly popular. And now almost no one knows the series ever existed.

Michelangilo Camera Hickory the fith is the name, though I prefer carrot. Most people would asume that that is a nickname that one would get because of red hair, but not me. No. I got my name from my size. People teased me because I was as small and fragile as a carrot. It wasn't my fault though, I was abandoned as a child. An old widdow found me and fed me. Untill she was taken to the next world. She taught me to walk, talk and write. I was pretty fast at it too. Once she passed, I made a freind, Mic. We relied on each other for everything. Mic and me. Me and Mic. We were the best of friends. We lived in the same car, ate the same food and said the same things. We were like brothers. I remember the day our entire lives changed, I remember it like yesterday..... A plump man in a brown suit, walked up to the two of us and yelled at us through the pelting rain, "What are you boys doing out here in the rain? Why aren't you inside with a warm fire?" cant type n e more 4 more, email me

The story is about a future society that test children for anything special and then handicaps them to make everyone equal. The story ends with the boy removing the headphones that prevent him from thinking...he then takes over a tv studio...the girl removes her leg braces and dances on tv...the "police" show up and shoot them. I read this in high school and cannot remember the name of the story to save my life. Please help.

People always say that they like one better than the other but they never say why. So, do you like LotR or hp better and why ("why" is the pivotal word).

It doesn't matter what war it takes place during. My personal favorites are "All Quiet on the Western Front" Erich Maria Remarque and "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" Vicente Blasco Ibanez.
