FINAL INSPECTION

The Marine stood and faced his God, which will always come to pass

He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass

Step forward now you Marine, How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek, And to my Church been true?

The Marine squared his shoulders and said, No Lord, I guess I ain't

Because those of us who carry guns can't always be a saint

I've had to work on Sundays and at times my talk was tough

And sometimes I've been violent 'cause the world is awfully rough

But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep

Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got too steep

And I never passed a cry for help though at times I shook with fear

And sometimes God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here

They never wanted me around - except to calm their fears

If you've a place for me here Lord, it needn't be so grand

I never asked or had too much - if you don't I'll understand

There was silence all around the Throne where saints had often trod

As the Marine waited quietly for the Judgment of his God

Step forward now, you Marine - you've borne your burdens well

Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets. You've served your time in Hell

Anyone here like the series? Favorite character? Any opinions on it?

I really love this series. It got me a little more into reading. So far it's the only actual series I can stand to read. It opened up a whole different part of my life when I was about 12 and got me wanting to be a writer. They actually gave me motivation. Although my heart broke a little when I found out Katherine got other people to write most of them.

Anyway, my favorite Animorph is Cassie, since she likes animals, and I can totally relate to that. I hope to do something with animals when I get older. She's my favorite Animorph, but Erek is my favorite character. I have no clue why. He's just so cool, lol.

I just finished the third book, and I was so sad. Why, oh, why did Zane have to die, and why does Tally have to end up on the oposite side as Shay again? Also, has anyone noticed the the last word in the Uglies book is pretty, the last word in the Pretties book in special, and the last word in the Specials book (before Tally's signature) is ugly?

This was an illustrated science fiction book, about a spaceship that crashed on an invisible planent. There was also a character called "Rathryn" who had a bird arm. I remember reading this book many years ago as a child.

what are your opinions on jane eyre? most of the people in my class love this book and think its wonderful...i read it and i didn't really enjoy it...i found charlotte bronte's use of words to be very hard and complicated....the story had a good plot and everything, but i think that jane eyre is unrealistic in a way....i don't think a girl who comes from such a sad background (no one who loves her except the maid betsy....when she went to the school, her best friend dies and the only teacher who is nice is that one teacher....) could leave mr. rochester....psychologically, it just doesn't sound right.....what are your thoughts on jane eyre? please feel free to comment....

Okay, I have a very off the all thought/question. Recently I watched a program that discussed MPD/Disassociative disorder and the effects - where you are different people and sometims feel otheres or hear others in your mind. As a writer, I hear other voices in my head, fully formed people who have stories to tell and I know other writers have the same. Do we have a 'healthy' form of MPD?

I'm so sick of people claiming that Tolkien is the godfather of fantasy adventure. Yeah, Lord of the Rings & Hobbit were good, but they were extremely bland. Besides, any one ever hear of Robert E. Howard?- known mostly for creating Conan. Personally I think he's the godfather of fantasy adventure. Who do u like?

For adults and kids, I'm not picky about age range. Person with most listed that I haven't already read gets 10 pts.

PLEASE keep the rating of these books G or PG which means fairly clean language and little violence and no gratutitous adult situations.

What do you think of her writings? What about her style, perception, and insight gives you a look into yourself? In all honesty, do you like the way that she writes? Do you feel that she really is one of the greatest poetic minds? Give your thoughts freely.
