Although it can be said that a lot of women likes to read, there are some women who are just not into it. It all depends on each of our preferences of what we like doing in our spare time.

Personally though, I LOVE to read and with the amount of reading I have done in my lifetime, I can't seem to think what the other women are missing when they do not read. But, I guess I can only live and let live. :)

Girls (and women) tend to like things that are more unrealistic. They like being in a "fantasy world." They just like to get away sometimes and read a good romantic book and wish they will meet that night in shining armor they always read about. It sort of gives them hope;) Like the story of them and their boyfriend would fall in love the same way, or that it would be like a fairytale.

Well, strange as it may seem, a woman doesn't really know what all other women do. I love to read but I don't have a clue whether other women like to.
Hope that helps.

i dont know about most girls but i do. I just dont have any time for it. I think that any person, man or woman, needs to have a passion for learning and exploring new ideas in order to read different pieces of literature voluntarily.

Reading is prevalent in women because they tend to read rather engage in acitivities like sports. Women are passive while men are active beings.

Contrary to what one girl said here, I usually don't like fiction novels. I read stuff on economics and politics...I prefer to read things based in reality.

You can't really apply a stereotype to so many ppl.

most of us like to read, because reading it lets us escape into a fantasy world.

I'm not most women, only one, but I love to read. So does my daughter.

Then again, so does my son.

Does it have to be a gender thing?
