I have a customer who likes to talk religion/philosphy with me. I believe that Calvinism rests on the concept or preordination and reminds me of the philosphy of Locke & Hobbs. But need more information before discussing with him.

Questions like-why is the universe existing;what is the purpose of life and many others asking about the whys of existence keep coming up in inqisitive minds. Can anyone suggest as to why they arise in our minds although one can never ever obtain a rational answer to them. Please comment . Many thanks.

If god is all-knowing, then he knows what we are going to do before we do it, so how can we say there is freewill when our choices in life are predetermined?

So, I just smoked some salvia a little while ago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_divinorum) and I had an expierence like never before. It was like my spirit left my body. I connected with the world like I have never been able to before. I have always been on the "the mind exists separte" side anyway but now I am convinced. What are some expierences you have had or thoughts you have which make you a agree? What makes you disagree?

Okay, our theory is that everyone should be equal, and that criminals should have equal rights to everyone else after they've done their time.
Is there a philosopher who believes that everyone should be equal, and/or that after a person has served their punishment should be treated equally?

i got lost (2)

Sometimes I fall down, and just don't get up,
Most of the time I don't care.
But now I am closer than ever before,
With no way to silence my pain.

Somehow or someway, I must of got lost,
On that same dark highway again.
I wish there was a way, that I could get back,
But another detour is ahead.

What do you see when you close your eyes tight?
What do you feel deep down inside?
Why do I even try to pretend,
To comprehend my pain once again?

I've tread on this path so many times,
But the hurt and the pain are still there.
I've tried to learn, but to no avail,
Why won't you just let me be?

Eyes that may open, yet fail to see,
The depths of my fading sanity.
The silent waves of a dying black sea,
Laying waste to the last bits of me.
