I candidly don't understand what you mean by "power" in this context.
Power most basically refers to vigorous, durable, resistant to pressure; energy, ability to overcome opposition, physically strong.
The synonym, "stalwart" applies more to qualities of courage & loyalty. Is this in any way closer to what you mean? I still don't think it's close enough for me to adequately answer your question.
I'm truly sorry, as I like your questions. It would seem to me that if one "felt" powerful, it could not be forgotten, or it would have been an illusion from the start.
"Power" does exist, & we can see this in the world--dictators, politics, money as power. But power is not in "who we are." Who we are is the truth of us, & yields no "power."

Oh yes! I feel powerful only because I managed to forget the pain caused by the fact that I was dumped! With no reasonable explanation. At all. this gives me power.

What is his/her power to begin with? No one has control over others or of nature. We make our own decisions. Power doesnt exist.

A person's greatest power is communicating that who he/she is.
Without that he/she does not exist, and you cannot have power if you do not exist.
