Because that's human nature. What causes gravity? Is the universe infinite or does it have an end? Both seem equally impossible. We are fascinated by that which we will never know. These are the great questions, the questions that have been asked since man could articulate thoughts through words, and will be contemplated as long as our race or any other sentient races in the cosmos exists.

Because life would be dead boring with nothing to think about!!

We all have curiosity and a desire to learn, to know, to find out, explore.... for excitement and adventure.... within our own little set routines and structure.

Day dream... it sets you free.

Life would be nothing without an imagination and thoughts.

Logic and rationality are grossly over rated anyway!

We are not logical, rational human beings, if we were we would be androids.
We have emotions and feelings... gut instinct, intuition..... that is what makes us uniquely human.

These are not even questions, as they make too many assumptions or fail to consider the limit of language. For instance, any causal question about the universe posits a possible meaning for "cause" when there is no time (it hasn't emerged yet).

if we never wondered about what there was NOT, we would never solve problems and make progress towards the betterment of mankind. There is an old saying: Some wonder about things that are bad and say WHY? I wonder about a solution and say WHY NOT? Those are not the exact words, but I think I captured the meaning.

its the brains natural need to explore and learn if no one said i want to know how birds fly and if i can too we'd have no aeroplanes.

Why people cant obtain rational answers is probably due to the endless possibilities scientists will never cease searching till the have a definitive answer.

Human progress is due to asking why?Why we cannot fly?Answer came as air o plane. The countries where more aking "why" has progressed and developed.By asking why ,we may not find an answer, but the coming generation may find answer.
The answer is not important,if you have started asking it indicates that you have started thinking.Asking why and how is human nature.

the human mind is both blessed and cursed with the knowledge that it CAN solve every problem if it works on it enough. this comes through simple fascination with how the world around us works. it's better than just saying the hell with it and leaving it alone. by asking questions we learn how complex the world around is really is.

All i can say is primates are curious, that's prob y we developed intelligence in the 1st place. Or they come hand in hand, not sure. We want answers to things. if we didn;'t, we would be a completely different kind of species and prob have none of our current developments.
