I've come to understand that most of our education system is bullshit- in the US they teach all the good books and themes, ect, but the way they teach them it's like no one is really paying attention and no one cares. I know this is the case because it seems like a lot of people spend a good portion of their lives in school without ever having managed to learned anything.

What I'm wondering is how I'm supposed to function in society when I actually got something out of those classes- when I actually internalized the information about how to think critically or from my sociology class came to understand that everything about our culture isn't great or "perfect". Basically, how do you learn everything that they taught you in school and still face the world? I am relatively young, but I've already gotten a lot from my education- but what I'm finding difficult is rationalizing how I'm ever going to be able to go out and simply enjoy life again.

I always read books taking place in the present, but I would like to read more books during the past. I would prefer the Victorian era, but really any books from the 1600s to the mid 1900s would be good. (and they definitely have to be supernatural of fantasy, preferrably involving at least some romance)

I just heard that 58% of all high school graduates will not read a single book the rest of their lives; 80% of households in the USA didn't buy a single book last year; and 51% of adults in America haven't been in a bookstore, any bookstore, for the past 5 years, for any reason (even to buy coffee, a card or a CD) ... what do these statistics say about America in 2007?

He arrived from Germany around 1879. I don't find any immigration information about him, so I wondered if his name was not really Berry but a name he might have chosen to sound more American. Any thoughts about what it could be?

Here's what I want to know....
-Different type of ballroom dances
-If it's ok for my age
-Do you get assigned a partener? Do you always have a partener?
-What sort of things do you learn in a regulaire ballroom dancing class/lesson?
-Anything else you know that could help me

Please help me, I'm clueless but I want to know more about it before getting into it.
