How did the West get to a point where the experiences of what was going on during the Holocaust became a reality? I'm wondering what was the point where they decided to help out? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am an upcomming musician who is starting to play larger gigs. My band is in the process of booking a few nights at our local park (there is a stage there where most of the local bands play occasionally). Right now I am using an Ibanez 150 watt guitar amplifiar. It has been more than enough for our other gigs in gymnasiums and such, but I am not sure if it will have enough power for the park.

If so, is it because there are more material goods to be had, therefore more things to desire? Or, is this just a general trait of humans that has been going on since the beginning of time? Why do people care so much about material things/money when everyone knows that life is so short and "you can't take it with you."? Why do people value money over kindness and compassion? I don't get it. It seems like an illness.

"Escape"
Awaken in darkness,
Stars shining silent.
The beating of footsteps,
Sidewalk pounding and violent.
Cold, cutting winds,
The moon still chilling my skin.
Motions in rhythm,
Fleeing the costs of my sin.
Muscles scream with fire,
Determination rising with the sun.
Beautifully beaming,
Morning dew withering as I run.
Mastering want,
Ignoring the need for breath.
Praying in seconds,
Running to or from death?
Nature seeping into senses,
Familiarity passing with time.
Speechless forgiveness,
God in nature sublime.
Escape hatred,
Sweating my inconsolable heart.
Impervious will,
My failure, I fear to impart.
Miles have passed,
Bird's sweet, soothing song.
Desperate and needing,
Body pushes, atoning its wrong.
High rays refine my body,
The road narrowing to an end.
Self splurged against pavement,
Nature, God, I commend.
Earned the right to exist,
Can let love now surround.
Until morning dawns again,
Self once more thrashed against ground.

i am 13 years old. i am very depressed right now.

here is the poem.
There is Still Hope
----------------------------
As I sit ialone n this cold, dark room
Thoughts of my past and suicidal hate devour my mind,
I begin to lose myself
My hope
My feeling
My ability to believe there is anything else.
I feel the soothing sting of the razor
As it sends its cold message,
That is that i am still aive,
That there is still hope for me

so.... thee it is. it wot hurt me if u dont likeit so just say what u think.

You cannot base your answer on personal opinion or relativity of values or knowledge and so on.. Their is one logical fact to both questions...
Scenerio: A man robs a bank..is that right or wrong? How did you determine it was wrong if you say wrong.. but if you say right how did you determine that..
Lets see how you think and ill post the answer soon..
