There are over 950 billionairs around the globe, according to Forbes Magazine. Wouldn't it be interesting if these Billionairs chipped out a million a piece, and invest it in the earth, so to speak? Would it be a good start towards the future?

In English we have to analyze books themes, conflict, symbolism and all that other stuff. Do authors really want us to do this or do they just want us to enjoy the book? I don't they wanted us to spend more of our time trying to understand every single sentence and just read and enjoy their writing. So my question is Do author's really want us to analyze their books?

Hey, my name is Connie obviously and I was wondering if anyone could think of any nicknames for Connie? I can't think of any and am not sure if there are any at all. So I thought I'd ask and get some input, if any input. Thanks in advance :)

I am watching the movie and am confused about the part when...

The commander takes Offred to that secret party where there were dancers. One of the dancers was a girl that Offred helped escape from their "handmaid training". They were talking in the Bathroom and Offred noticed that that womans hands were messed up...why? I couldnt understand what she said...i turned the volume up and everything and i couldnt understand...why was her hand all messed up?

Set up: Two girls. One mother, one daughter. “Daughter” is running, very hard. “Mother” is standing there, making her run faster and faster. Younger appears to be very frightened by her. There is a loud pulse in the background.

Daughter:
I never know when I get to stop.
Or how long I have to go before you let me.
I can’t stop.
You can’t stop. (yells to mother)
Why am I along for this?
Did you have to take me with you? (long pause)
Maybe if I keep pushing..
Just a little longer..
Just a little farther..
I’ll fall out of it.
Or maybe…
(Girl collapses, loud screaming face on screen, then goes to silence, except for the heartbeat in the background slower and not as loud. Out of breath.)
Maybe I’ll get out of this myself.
And leave you,
Alone,
Strained,
And deserted.
Like me.

DO PUBLISHERS insist on cotton-fiber paper for manuscript submissions--or is wood-pulp (normal classy, office printing paper) okay?
I still am not getting a clear enough answer to this question. Everyone says you need to print your manuscript for a prospective publisher on 20lb BOND PAPER, NOT COPY PAPER OR OTHER ERASABLE PAPER. Does this mean I have to spend 25$ for a box of cotton-based, contract/resume type paper to print my 500 page manuscript on? Some people say "20lb bond paper" is the paper you buy at Office Depot for printing things, while other people say, "just don't get the cheap stuff like at Office Depot." Please tell me EXACTLY what kind of paper I should use--LOOK on the PACKAGE, please, before telling me what it says, and the price per box (and how many sheets that is). I still can't find a box or pachage of 8 1/2 by 11 paper ANYWHERE that actually SAYS "BOND PAPER", even though lots of professional people are telling me they think it will say so.

When compared to its peers in one area, it's surprisingly small, but then, when compared from another point of view - it's huge. It's very old, and through ancient times it's been known by a litany of names. Its current handle, though seemingly simple, still sparks controversy.

I'll be working with mainly 35mm color and slide films therefore I intend to invest in a film scanner.

(I've tried researching online and only get scanner reviews from 2001-2002 and am guessing they're most probably outdated)

I'm using Mac OSX so support for it is most crucial.
Also, I'm a hobby-photographer so I can take all my time to scan films.

Need your opinions and recommendations!

I have a 60,000 well-written, character driven novel about a vampire who falls in love with a human (its not as simple as it sounds, its more emotional than action) and the story that unfolds. Thing is, I looked at some online publishers and read the stories they put out, and the e-books are TRASH. Smut with no purpose and then cheese upon lame with a side of stupid. Does anyone know a DECENT publisher where I could send my manuscript, or query letter, to? In this "paranormal romance" genre? Some place of QUALITY?
