I am watching the movie and am confused about the part when...
The commander takes Offred to that secret party where there were dancers. One of the dancers was a girl that Offred helped escape from their "handmaid training". They were talking in the Bathroom and Offred noticed that that womans hands were messed up...why? I couldnt understand what she said...i turned the volume up and everything and i couldnt understand...why was her hand all messed up?

Oh, did she not escape? Did they send her to the colonys? Or did she escape and then became a dancer?

She was a lesbian. She tried to escape. When that happened, they beat their hands and/or feet, because if their ovaries were still functionally viable, they didn't want to kill them. You should read the book.

Torture to make her conform to the new system they were living under.
Its a really great book.
