A book that is pretty much worth the time. Something that is interesting, from any genre will do. Thanks!

One of my favorite novels is Anne Tyler's _Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant_.

Tyler tells the story of the Tull family, with each chapter being told by a different member of the family.

There's greed, parental rage, sibling rivalry, divorce, abandonment, and lots of other dysfunctional familial elements, but also humor and a bottomless well of compassion for human ridiculousness.

She won a Pulitzer for a later novel (_Breathing Lessons_), and had a huge bestseller with _Accidental Tourist_, but this 1982 novel is her best work, in my opinion.

The Cave by José Saramago- (you might want to read a brief summary of Plato's allegory of the cave before reading it) medium-length book, different writing style, interesting philosophical questions

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck- short book, interesting, sad ending

On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony- first book in a series, medium-length, interesting perspective, incorporates some greek mythology (actually i don't quite remember if there is some in this one but there should be since they appear in all the others)

You might want to try a series written by Andrew Greeley, all starting with the word, "Irish..." such as "Irish Mist", Irish Gold", etc. They're fun reads involving an Irish gal who is what's known as "fey"...meaning she has an instinct and clairvoyance about past crimes or occurences. There are a lot of them available at most public libraries. See the below link for more info, on the book called "Irish Gold", the first in the series, with a synopsis for you. Happy Reading.

Do you like Non-fiction - Try the book titled "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader," written by Bradley K. Martin.

This has a shocking look into North Korea.

Like Fiction? Try the books written by Clive Cussler. There's a hero named Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino.

Try anything by Nicholas Sparks. They're really good; great love stories. My favorite is A Walk to Remember.

The book that got my bulimia of reading started, was 'The pillars of the earth' by Ken Follet. Big fat book, but I simply loved it. I still do.

Anything by V.C.Andrews or Janet Evanovich.
Janet is the best if you want a good laugh.
I would start with One for the Money

"Fairy Godmother" by Mercedes Lackey
"One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich
Any of the "...In Death" novels by JD Robb. (Nora Robert's pen name, fantastic books!)
I could go on and on. Let me know if you need more suggestions. I read obsessively.
