Should i name her:

Sapphira (Saph for short...but then remember it's also very similar to the name of Eragon's dragon which is kinda weird even though i would have it pronounced/spelled differently)

or Seraphina=pronounced Sear-uh-fin-uh (Saph for short also) (NOT Sarah-FEEN-uh or anything that ends in feena cuz that's kidna annoying)

Sapphira is Greek and is from "The Old testament" or something when she gets killed for lying...not very appealing. I can also spell it Sappheire which....i have no idea how to pronounce.

Seraphina is a feminine form of the late latin name, "Seraphinus" which is derived from the biblical word "Seraphim" which is hebrew in origin and means "Fiery Ones" which i think is pretty cool.

So take your pick:

Seraphina pronounced Sear-uh-fin-uh meaning fiery one

or Sapphira/Sappheire which is from the bible or something where someone was killed by god for lying

Either way her name will be Saph but just wondering what you would think a better full first name

Hey, I'm 13 and I'm writing a book. The set-up is a trio of kids on career day. Then a mysterious woman gathers them close and says they have to come and learn from her; they have to, or the world will be destroyed. Then she takes them to another planet and they save the world. I won't get into details. But there is one niggling detail that comes up more than once in my story and I really need to know...
What non-core subjects are there and what subject has a career day or what is career day exactly? You see I'm homeschooled, so I wouldn't really know. Please help. And any other details about school (jr. High) you could offer would help alot. You know, like about cliques, how people act, what teachers are like, how classes are set up, you know the, the whole nine yards. Thanks!

Ok guys, we truly have an epic battle today. It's a three way match between some Chinese heavy weights.

Lao Tzu vs Confucius vs Sun Tzu

Who would win?

Remember, the person with the best answer allows their philosopher of choice to advance to the next round.

Good luck and may the best philosopher win!

I love to hear what other peoples' quotes are because they usually relate to their lives in some way or another and are very meaningful.

Why can't I be happy?
Why am I always sad?

Why do people laugh,
When they don't understand.

Deep inside I'm hurting,
From everything they've done.

All I want is to smile,
And be free under the sun.

There is a journey ahead,
That I must take.

How can I take it though?
When I haven't much strength.

They never make my spirit rise,
They only melt it slowly.

Inside my heart is dying,
From all of the pain.

I want them to heal the pain,
But they'd only be doing it in vain.

They don't understand me,
Maybe that's why they're mean.

Even that's not a good reason,
To be doing this to me.

Why can't they see?
That they're hurting me.

Don't I care to them?
Or am I just a problem.

I'd like to know,
What I am in their eyes.

Do they really care?
Or is it all-pretend.

All I'd like to know,
Is why they hurt me so.
