Hey, I'm 13 and I'm writing a book. The set-up is a trio of kids on career day. Then a mysterious woman gathers them close and says they have to come and learn from her; they have to, or the world will be destroyed. Then she takes them to another planet and they save the world. I won't get into details. But there is one niggling detail that comes up more than once in my story and I really need to know...
What non-core subjects are there and what subject has a career day or what is career day exactly? You see I'm homeschooled, so I wouldn't really know. Please help. And any other details about school (jr. High) you could offer would help alot. You know, like about cliques, how people act, what teachers are like, how classes are set up, you know the, the whole nine yards. Thanks!

What subject is career day in? Or is it in a subject? And do you go to class at all that day? I don't mean the type of career day where ppl stand up a talk about their jobs I mean liek there are tables put up and you read about each job then figure out who you want to learn from that day

I know my book is far fetched, but hey, it's fantasy, it's not like wrinkle in time got turned down; it's a hit and has been for years. It has won awards.

(this means alot to me, i am grateful to still have it continuosly)
we all have it, the abitlity to inhale, and exhale. yet we never stop to think about it- do we? its not an obvious thing, but you see when you dig deeper in the real meaning, the answer is simple... without it we would not be here, we could not survive, we depend on it to keep us going, but we do not contemplate about the subject.
without the ability to breathe, i would've not been able not write this...x

Sleep is mentioned in

act one scene eight lines 71-74 and 86-88
act two scene one lines 8-11
act two scene one lines 61-63
act two scene two lines 30-35
act two scene two lines 47-57
act three scene two 21-25
act three scene four lines 173-176

act five scene one 4-14

this is not all of the places where it is mentioned but a lot of them.

If Romans did not bury their dead but cremated or burned them, where did they adopt the practice, because Greeks before them and Jews who were their contemporaries built elaborate essuaries for bones.

Curious that Hindus also cremate their dead. Is this a pagan ritual?

Someone knowledgeable with history please answer.

The winner gets their story published in the yearbook. It can be about anything but it has to be appropriate for school (obviously). I was just wondering if anyone could give me ideas.. I'm sort of in a writers block, but once I get an idea I find it easy to write about.

Thanks ♥

Out of curiosity, can a battleship unload its main guns at a target right in front of it?

- Like the Richelieu class battleship, which had its full main armament facing the front.
- Or even a ship like the Bismarck or the Iowa ... could they at least fire both their forward turrets at a target directly in front of it?

I mean, yes, I know it would probably damage the deck if done repeatedly, but as a just in case. I guess that would be why broadsides would be preferred. (On the other hand, battleships are designed to withstand the blast from their own guns - even if you fire all of them simultaneously.)

And another thing ... if they could, then why don't battleships just have their full main armament face the front? Like the Richelieu?
