Snap! I love books too ;)
I've read loads and can't live without them. I was once asked what would be my one and only wish if it could be granted and I said, "To read all the books ever written!"... lol :))
Impossible of course and so far up to date, of all the one's I've read, (and it was a difficult choice...) one sticks out slightly more than any other:
William Golding's 'Lord of the Flies'. I loved the portrail of raw, ruthless and often political instinct which could hypothetically arise and developed in those members of our society which we adults consider 'innocent': children...and yet how 'animal-like' we can revert to in order to survive. Scary; touching; enlightening!
ps...also agree: 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' is genius at it's best!

Under siege- it is deep and it is christian
Wrinkle in Time (and sequels)- it keeps my attention, it has fantasy, but it also has kids dealing with the real world, and you really feel a bond with the characters
Nancy Drew- the mysteries keep me on my toes at all times
Hank the Cow Dog- they are a bit young for me, but it's full or sacrcasm and laughs. If it was directed more for teens instead of 6-11 yr olds, it would be a fave of mine
The Hobbit- Very interesting, and mystical
Anything by mark twain, jane austen, madeleine lengle, C.S. Lewis, Jrr Tolkein, Jonh White (he wrote 5 books similar in genre to the chronicles of narnia and the hobbit, sorry but i totally forgot what his books are called lolz), or anything by Elizabeth George Speare anything mystery or adventure or fantasy
If you are asking this to find out what makes up a good book, you might try going to my profile and looking at Q/s I've already answered. I answered a question about what makes up a good book a minute ago, and i gave a bunch of deatails.

To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee
What an excellent book, I can't believe that was the only book she had ever written.
I read a lot, but this is one of my all time favorites!

Well, for non fiction, The Bible because it is upbeat and always teaches me something new.
For fiction, that's hard to say, because I have many favorites. I guess my top three are Christy by Catherine Marshall, The Hobbit by Tolkien, and The Blue Bottle Club by Stokes.

"Phantom" by Susan Kay
All time favorite!!
I've re-read it over 10 times and loan it to my friends all the time.
It's a pre-story to the musical of "Phantom of the Opera". The story starts from his birth and just tells all of his history and how & why he became the person he is.
Wonderful, heart-breaking, tragic, & interesting book ...

I love The Hobbit!! It was just so good. I could read that over and over again. Although I did really like reading Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in English.
