I really enjoyed Dan Brown's thrillers. Can you recommend any authors or books that are real page turner technothrillers similar to Dan Brown's work?

In the Phillipine-American war, US marines ran into a style of warrior who could put themselves into a state where they would feel no pain, and only stop fighting when their wounds caused them to keel over dead, not yield to their pain. Many of these raids would consist of Filipinos with machetes charging at American squads, being shot up but taking several marines with them because of their ability to continue ignore pain (leading eventually to the general issue status of the Colt .45 in the American army).

Go back a millennium and you'll see Norse warriors who fought with animal like ferocity. Not heeding defense, not heeding wounds, not heeding burns or the freezing cold on their often naked or half naked bodies. What my question is, could these two styles of fighting be related and if so, are they caused by the same thing?

I'm a girl in choir in high school, and in March, we're having solo auditions for our choir show in May. With only four weeks to prepare, I haven't even found a jazz song yet to audition with. What are some popular or good jazz songs anyone know? The song doesn't necessarily have to be an "old" song, just something with a jazzy feel to it. Thank you people!

How can I expect anything from myself? Expect nothing from your consciousness, thus spoke my "other me". Thus, I desire to throw all precious things. Cried the evils: "succeed, more succeed, always succeed". Cried Jesus: "defeat, your nature is vainity, yourself is nothing, your succeed is but your defeat, your cruxification is your gain, your self-publication is your lost. What have I told you? Yourself is not ONE but MANY, now you tried to be unique, then now you become ill. Yourself is falling from heaven, not because your evils and not because you achieve nothing worth giving value, worth praising, worth tasting, BUT because of your desire for escaping these things..."

What do you think about the possibility that Neville could be the one who is supposed to fulfill the prophecy?
If so...could Harry (or Neville for that matter) actually die?
Would Rowlings let Lord V live to reign terror to witches and muggles alike and kill off the hero(s)?

This is a poem I wrote. I wont explain the backstory, I'm hoping it will surfice on its own

Flooding back into my mind
Memories I never wanted to find
Nightmares I tried so hard to forget
Fears so old they no longer upset
Trying to find the words to explain
Someone so young feeling such pain
No reason to see the things that she saw
No reason to know the things at her core
No way to understand the things that she dreamt
But to accept that must be the way she's sent

Lock them back up child and throw away the key
These are images you should never see
Turmoil and torture corrupting your mind
Ideas that will beat you and words that will bind
Run from the images, run from the pains
One day these memories will bring you gains
But for now you're too young to understand what you know
So pick up the pieces of your sanity and go
Run as far and as fast as you can
Forget the dreams that turn you against man
