Drawing is a learned skill just like any other. Anyone who says you need to be born with some gift or such is just kidding themselves. The key for a beginning is to find some form of instruction. You can take instruction from a book, a teacher, your own eyes, a video, a friend, online forum, etc. Figure out how you personally enjoy to learn any skill (computers, cooking, driving, sports, music, doesn't matter) then apply that technique to learn drawing your way. If you already know how to write using a pen or pencil then you already know how to draw symbols;) Letters are nothing more than drawn shapes and symbols that people put meaning into. I have never met anyone that was born with the ability to write from day one; they had to learn it;) Practice makes better, decide what shapes you want to draw and practice. If you're having some difficulty look for some instruction or feedback. Not all drawings are good, but you need to get through the bad ones before you can get to the good ones. Good Luck ;)

I am an art teacher and artists myself. I have lernt drawing and now I writemy dissertation on art education. So I believe there are deffinitely things and skills you can learn. And some of the skills can be learnt by anyone.
Truelly, carefull observation and practice (lots of drwaing) is very helpfull. Still I myself think that learning from a person (teacher) is more joyfull and more motivating, as we, humnas, are made to learn from each other. If the teacher, beside drawing skills manage to infect you with his/her love for arts, then it is the most you can get! Learning in groups is better , according to my oppinion, as then you do not only get support from the teacher, but can also "steel" some ideas from your group mates, and also make freinds, which again gives more motivation.
Beside this, I would reaccomend you a wonderfull book: Drawing on the Right Side of The Brain, by Bety Edwards. The book brings some really inetersting ideas how we learn drawing, and also it will tell you about exercizes which are very much helpfull. I give these exercises to my students. they love them and find them very helpfull.
In the end, beside all these advices, I would like to tel you that the most important thing is to learn how to express yourself. There are drawing skills one can learn, but learning how to express yourself is evene more imortant. A good teacher can help you a bit in this, to encourrage you, Stll this iy your share of pie to make.
I hope that my answer gave you some hel and ideas what to do. I wish you to enjoy the process of learning to draw above all! :-)

The first step is to observe. Look at everything you see, whether it's in pictures, video, computer, but especially in real life. Study shapes, forms, patterns, and lines. Most everything has a basic shape, and you can work on your drawing from there. A person's face is essentially oval, a human torso is an inverted triangle, etc. Try to copy what you see. Practice with tracing paper over pictures, but it is far better to try it free-hand. Learn about the different types of pencils and papers. Pencils come in different thicknesses, and range from from B to H. Each pencil is suited for a type of line, either thick or thin or in-between. Different drawing papers also give different results, but it's best to be familiar with pencils and shapes first. Even computer paper is great to use for practice. Look at pictures, people, objects, animals, nature. Observe, copy, practice. Good luck.

Take classes, practice a lot. Got to group drawing session at local school or art club. And invite some friend over for a still life drawing session. Those are fun.

The thing that helped me most in learning to draw: keep an eraser close by! Erase any lines you make that don't look right to you, and try again. Eventually the picture you have in mind will appear.

the best thing to do is concentration "concentration is the best thing to use co'z if you didn't concentrate on your drawing it will end ugly and less feeling" 2. is emotion!!! the very important thing to use to, if your emotion to your drawing is incomplete the drawing will be useless!!! drawing can be use in a therapy, and by drawing you can express your feelings 3. feel free to draw, co'z this will give you the energy to show your emotion, express all of your thought's, don't listen to the negative comments of the others co'z this will give you insicureness. 4. your inspiration "think of your best inspiration so that you can show the best thing of your life". 5. imagination!!! yes your imagination is the best dont loose effort to your work, and be more confident and think of the best imaginary things in your life for your drawing so that it will end so very very beautiful

you could enroll in a class. or get a book.
in sketching, it's really nice if you have a variety of pencils. one with a soft lead, one with a hard lead and an HB (not too hard, not too soft).those will do, you don't need to get a lot of variety. the variety would give your drawing contrast, depth, etc. the soft one you could use for shadows and shades, the hard one for details.
in color painting, you need different brushes. hehe. i tried painting with just one brush, it was disastrous. hehe.
good luck! buy or borrow a book for techniques. it would be very useful.
